The System Support Engineer is required to provide 2nd and up to 3rd line support to a fast paced and technically challenging environment.  The successful candidate will be a key player in a dynamic IT team in maintaining, system-administrating, monitoring the infrastructure and operations support systems.


The successful candidate will have a good understanding of IT infrastructure & development support, practical knowledge & strong system admin and troubleshooting skills, helpdesk support activities, excellent communication and can do attitude.  The System Support Engineer is an integral member of the IT Infrastructure team and will have the opportunity to maintain and expand on a number of systems.


The Role:

  • Provide onsite technical support to system users by troubleshooting issues and working directly with vendors to investigate, troubleshoot and resolve major software problems.

  • Maintain systems, install new equipment, and make modifications to client infrastructure as requested.

  • Assisting on-site cross department IT support needs such as detecting system admin problems, liaising with third party suppliers, diagnosing and resolving problems to the user’s satisfaction.

  • Coordinating and supporting all IT Systems projects and the efforts of team members in order to deliver large projects.

  • Supporting company users across most of the services, daily upkeep of the escalated IT support tasks, monitoring basic services, reviewing system and application logs, system checks, scheduled/planned work.

  • Liaising with IT/Desktop engineers in supporting and installing new hardware and PC/network specific software.  



  • Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.

  • 2+ years hands on system administration experience in business and operations support systems such as CRM, billing or real time transactions system.

  • Proven system Support experience: previous experience of 1-2 years of 2nd line support or exposure to 3rd line IT support, service desk environment and any helpdesk ticketing system.

  • Must have experience of recent systems maintenance and end user technical support experience.

  • Exposure to MS SQL based systems is preferred and a very basic knowledge of SQL is a bonus. Strong Excel knowledge is advantageous.

  • Exposure of setting up computers, new users, printers, strong PC and desktop troubleshooting and technical skills including Windows 10, MS office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook etc.).

  • Natural interest in IT with a desire to stay abreast of new technologies and the ability to understand clients technical requirements when described by clients who are using everyday language
