Our prestigious client in Epsom are looking for an experienced Payroll and Finance Administrator to take responsibility for Payroll and Cashiering Functions, including management of the payroll function.


You will report to the Financial Accounting Manager and be pro-active in looking at ways to improve systems and processes.


The Role:

Payroll duties:

  • Ensure all department managers approve and close the rotas on a weekly basis.

  • Review division rotas once complete. Verify the rota summary report to check all hours and payments are correct and then submit to payroll on a weekly basis.

  • Communicate any manual adjustments/corrections/back pay etc. to the payroll bureau for weekly/monthly payroll for example overtime, absences and sick pay etc.

  • Input the department revenues for each rota on a daily basis. Understand the sources of revenue and ensure the integrity of the data submitted.

  • Assist department managers to get the best out of the Payroll Reporting system. Show them how to use the rotas, where they can run reports, how to edit forecast revenues etc.  and analyse the data. Carry out training on a 1-2-1 basis where necessary.

  • To review the weekly and monthly payroll for accuracy on a timely basis before submitting for approval to the Financial Controller.

  • Reviewing the Payroll system on a regular basis to improve functionality

Financial duties:

  • To run the nominal ledger export from Fourth to Microsoft Dynamics according to month end timelines. Reconcile and agree the data before confirming import.

  • Check and process Petty cash on a weekly basis and put in change requests.

  • Top-up the ATM and ensure it is working, if not liaise with the ATM provider to resolve faults within ATM

  • Responsible for handing out floats for big Events.  Ad-hoc tasks around accounting relating to month-end and year end.

  • Collect takings from Vending Machine and ensure the float is correct

  • Other ad hoc duties as and when required.



  • Professional payroll or accounting qualifications

  • Qualified by experience

  • Evidence of continuing, relevant professional and personal development

  • Basic Knowledge of Payroll processes & legislations

  • Capable of using IT systems such as Word, Excel, Payroll software

  • Hospitality industry experience

  • Technical accounting skills, i.e., post and reconcile journals

  • Ability to maintain petty cash for the site and all other cash transactions

This role is full time, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm.
