An exciting opportunity has arisen in our clients growing team for an IT Support Engineer who will provide 1st or 2nd line support to a fast paced and technically challenging environment.  The IT support Engineer will be an integral member of the IT Infrastructure team and will have the opportunity to maintain and expand on a number of systems.

 

 

The Role:

  • Assisting on-site cross department IT support needs such as detecting software/hardware problems, liaising with third party suppliers, diagnosing and resolving problems to the user’s satisfaction.

  • Liaise with and escalate the issues to the senior IT/Desktop engineers for supporting, installation of new hardware and software.

  • Provide support to all IT projects and coordinating the efforts of team members in order to deliver large projects.

  • The candidate will be involved in supporting company users across most of the services, daily upkeep of the IT support tasks, monitoring basic services, system checks and scheduled/planned work.


 

Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will have a good understanding of basic computing knowledge, strong troubleshooting skills, helpdesk support activities and excellent communication. 

  • Proven IT / Technical Support experience: previous experience of 1-2 years of 1st line support or exposure to 2nd line IT support, service desk/help desk environment and helpdesk ticketing system.

  • Exposure of setting up computers, new users, desktops, printers, general system administration and basic network issues.

  • Strong PC and desktop troubleshooting and technical skills including Windows 7/latest OS, Microsoft office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook etc.).

  • Troubleshoot and assist in the remediation of wired/wireless LAN issues and coordinate the installation of new LAN infrastructure

  • Ability to communicate with the senior IT engineers

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange- mail box, Group Policies and PC drivers are advantageous

  • Experience working with IT Projects that may have includes network, infrastructure and office support projects.

  • Natural interest in IT with a desire to stay abreast of new technologies and the ability to understand clients technical requirements when described by clients who are using everyday language

 

Desirable:

  • Fully or part qualified, relevant MCP, MCSA or MCSE qualifications are a strong bonus
