INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT ENGINEER

You will be joining a friendly team of professionals focused on carrying out a variety of tasks in support of the technical team who are responsible for delivering IT support and IT services to clients.

 

The Role:
 

The successful candidate’s primary role will be to provide IT help and support to clients, provision of support will include telephone and remote support, onsite support and consultancy. The ability to work on exciting new projects with clients will be available to learn new skills and progress your career path.


Requirements:

 

Essential:
 

  • Active Directory

  • Windows Servers 2003 – 2019

  • Exchange Servers 2010 – 2016/ Office 365

  • DNS

  • Group Policy

  • DHCP (Extending scope, reservations)

  • Microsoft Office suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

  • Backup software and related principles (i.e. Backup Exec, Veeam, etc.)

  • Virtualisation Technologies (Hyper-V/VMWare)

  • Windows 7-10

  • Anti-Virus i.e Sophos

 

Desirable:
 

  • Installing and configuring a windows server cluster

  • Experience of Azure/AWS environment

  • Cisco/HP Switch Configuration

  • Installation and configuration of Firewalls Cisco ASA, WatchGuard (VPN, NAT)

  • Microsoft certifications

  • PowerShell scripting

  • SAN Storage Solutions

 

The successful candidate will also:

 

  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills. This job involves contacting clients’ personnel including company executives, by email and by phone.

  • Demonstrate organisational and management skills

  • Have excellent written skills

  • Be able to communicate and articulate technical concepts to a non‐technical audience

  • Be able to work independently and part of a team

  • Be able to drive and have their own car

  •  

Education and Experience
 

  • 8 high‐level GCSE passes or equivalent (Maths, English essential)

  • Degree or Industry IT certification ‐ preferred

  • Have a high passion for IT and proven troubleshooting/break‐fix of IT equipment.

  • Remuneration Negotiable depending on experience/suitability
