FACILITIES ASSISTANT

Epsom | £22- £24,000pa | Permanent- Starting Jan 2020

 

Cassidy Jones Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with a well-known Financial Services company, recruiting for a Facilities Assistant to join their head office team in Epsom.

 

Duties include post room duties, undertaking bulk mailings, maintaining equipment and supplies, internal maintenance work, the upkeep of the grounds and liaising with outside suppliers.

 

Successful applicants will be able to communicate at all levels both verbally and written, be able to work flexible hours, work as part of a team and under their own initiative, have good maintenance skills, be able to deal confidently with suppliers, and have a pleasant and personable manner with all staff. Basic IT skills eg Word and Excel would be useful as well as similar experience within an office environment. Facilities experience within an office environment or recent school leaver with customer service experience.

 

 

The Role:

 

  • Opening and checking the premises, including the powering up of equipment as required.

  • Assisting with the daily opening, sorting and delivery of incoming mail.

  • Undertaking mass mailings.

  • Ensuring that the photocopiers are supplied with paper and other consumer items as necessary and are in working order. Also carry out bulk photocopying as required.

  • Conducting preventative maintenance checks of premises and equipment as required and taking remedial action as necessary.

  • Assisting with the maintenance of car parks and office property including routine garden maintenance, grass cutting and tending the flower borders.

  • Assisting with the maintenance of company vehicles as required.

  • Assisting with general maintenance tasks e.g. painting, light carpentry, light electrical, moving furniture, cleaning and assembly/disassembly of office equipment, shelving or other items.

  • Liaising with external suppliers by phone and face-to-face.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Educated to GCSE Level.

  • Facilities experience within an office environment or recent school leaver with customer service experience.

 

  • Previous post room experience desirable.

  • Basic maintenance skills.

  • Clean driving license essential.

  • Basic PC skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Personable and pleasant to all internal and external customers and employees.

 

This is a full time permanent role comprising 42.5 hours a week, worked on a 2 week or monthly shift rota basis, 7.30am – 5.00pm and 8.00am – 5.30pm.
